Recruiting the Best!

It's been quite a while since the last post in this blog; with two articles already posted and a lot of questions thrown, where are the Pathfinders?

***
Dear Pathfinders:

Today, I am taking the bold step of recruiting the best there is to be one of the next Pathfinder.  And that means, You!

I know that I can not do this alone.  If I am going to make the world a better place for the next generation, I know I need the help of the best there is.  I am inviting young individuals and those who have the passion to help and guide the young "soldiers of the future" to join me in this cause.  We are not launching a global nor a national campaign. This is an open invitation to all who individuals who want to make the future a little better. Our only aim is to set the training ground for the young Pathfinders with high hopes that this simple blog can help you in your journey to the future where you will take the lead for the others to follow.

With all that is going on in the world today, the choices that the young generations are making, the paths that they are taking and the lives they are living, there should be a reason to be alarmed.  Young people doing everything that they want to do because they think they can do everything is becoming the latest and popular trend.  "YOLO" they say... You Only Live Once... But sometimes, how young people spend their precious "live-only-once" lives are both alarming and disturbing! Now, more than ever, these young individuals need the proper guidance; with the help of the others who believe in this cause and with the help of the young individuals who have already set the path for themselves, this is what we hope to accomplish.

Dear Fellow Believer:

There may be things that we haven't done in the past which we think we could have done, but our time has passed. Let us not make the same mistake that our predecessors and ourselves had make.... let us pass on the knowledge to the leaders of tomorrow and not the obligation to correct the wrongs we've done. Let us help them shine in their own right and way. Let us give them the chance to be the Pathfinders of their future. If you believe in the same cause that I believe in, join me as we walk with these young ones, helping them and guiding them, like friends, like brothers and sisters, like parents, like mentors, like a responsible elder...

***

Again, I am inviting all young leaders, students, educators, teachers, counselors, and all those who still believe that the "youth is still the hope of our land."  Join me in this quest to be of help to the future leaders!  The Pathfinders need you the same way WE NEED THEM!

Who are the Pathfinders?

As we've said in our previous article, Pathfinders are special breed of courageous men in the military who seek the path that other units may follow.  They are assigned for varying reasons.  But whatever those reasons may be, still, it is the ability and the courage to take the lead that matters.

***

Who are the Pathfinders of today?  There are a lot of people called as innovators, leaders, and motivators.  These people set the examples for others to follow.  People we look up to.  Are they the Pathfinders of our society?  But I believe that they are just but few compared to what I see as the new Pathfinders.

Our YOUTH.

How many young people are there today?  This group of individuals is the future.  The YOUTH IS OUR FUTURE.  Should there be Pathfinders in our society, it should be the young ones.  It could be your brothers or sisters.  It could be your sons or daughters.  It could be your students. A kid from your neighborhood.  It could be your friend. It could be any young one you know.

If our youth are our Pathfinders, do we give then enough courage and motivation to be one?  What have we been giving them?  How do we train them?  Do we train them to be leaders?  Trailblazers?  Pathfinders?  What do we equip them?

As members of the society who have gone ahead of them, it is our responsibility to provide them with all the help they can get to go on with their lives and be the best of who they are.  We have learned so much that we know what our young people of today would have to face.  Let us help them by showing our support, love and care for them.

These young ones are going to live longer days than most of us.  They have so much to do and accomplish.  And how are we training them?

We, the grown-ups, are too busy living our lives and racing for success, power, fame and fortune.  In the process we sometimes forget that there are young individuals behind us.  Looking up to us.  Watching our every move.  Listening to our every words.  What are we giving them?  When was the last time you've been cautious with your words or actions because of these young ones?

How we treat and train our youth would be our legacy on Earth.

The youth are seeking answers to their questions.  But are we there to answer them?  They are looking for directions, but all we do is confuse them.  They want to talk but we seldom care to listen.

How are we guiding them?  What are we teaching them? They are growing up in the days of confusion   and disorientation. They are looking for a hand to lead them.  Ears that would listen to them.  Shoulders they could cry on.  Arms that would embrace them.  Eyes that would look after them.  Lips that speak for their cause.  Hearts that would care and love them.  They are looking for their path.  Let us all help them find it.  Make them the Pathfinders who will lead the charge among their groups.

The Need for Pathfinders

"This way!"

"No, this way!"

"No, that way! Take that way!"

"Where are you going?  It's this way!"

Tired of hearing all these things telling you which path to take?  Then find your own.  Be a Pathfinder.

What is a Pathfinder?  Pathfinder is a military term normally used to describe a special unit, a breed of courageous men who are the first to be dropped behind enemy lines to set the path for the other members of the armed forces.

Wikipedia defines a pathfinder as
"a paratrooper who is inserted or dropped into place in order to set up and operate drop zones, pickup zones, and helicopter landing sites for airborne operations, air resupply operations, or other air operations in support of the ground unit commander. Pathfinders first appeared in World War II and continue to serve an important role in today's modern military, providing Commanders with the option of flexibly employing air assets"
Why is there a need for a Pathfinder?

Let's try to answer that in the following articles.

For now, let me say thank you for daring to find your own path.

May you find your true path.

I urge you not to take what others have taken or what others have told you to take or what's been taken less.  I say, dare to be different. Find your own path.  And set the blaze so others may find you and the path you've found.  You're a Pathfinder.
